List of PS5 games that support variable updating rates
The PlayStation 5 will soon receive a patch that allows players to use a variable refresh rate. This update allows PS5 owners who use an HDMI 2.1 cable and have a variable image random rate compatible TV or PC monitor to use this new functionality.
List of PlayStation 5 games that support VRR
The following games support the variable update rate through a patch for the game, but Sony says that VRR can also be applied to other games. Sony also says that VRR will run games liquid, with sharper graphics and reduced input delay.
- Astros game room
- Call of Duty: Avantgarde
- Call of Duty: Cold War of Black Ops
- Destiny 2
- Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
* Dirt 5 * * Marvels Spider-Man Remastered * Marvels Spider-Man: Miles Morales * Ratchet & Clank: Rift apart * Resident Evil Village * Tiny Tinas Wunderland * Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Victories * Tribes of Midgard
According to Sony, the variable update rate on the PlayStation 5 "minimize or eliminate visual artifacts and screen cracks. For the above-mentioned games VRR will seem to be automatically activated to support these titles. Sony, however, says you can apply VRR to games that are not on the list above. While these games will definitely support the function, other titles that are not on the list can improve video quality for these other titles.
The VRR option can be switched on and off by going to the PlayStation 5 screen and video settings and scroll down the VRR area. There will be options to turn it on automatically and to use the function on unsupported games.
The VRR patch comes in the next few days on the PlayStation 5, and players who want to use the update must be connected to their PlayStation 5 with the Internet.
