How to equip emotes

Like any other avatar item, emotes can be equipped from the Avatar Editor at any time. If you are unfamiliar with this menu and how it works, take a look at the quick tips below.

On the Roblox website, click on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen and select Avatar from the drop-down menu that appears. Or, if you're using the Roblox mobile app, select your avatar icon from the menu at the bottom of the screen.

If you are on Roblox.com, you should be automatically logged into the avatar editor. If on mobile, select Customize and then enter the avatar editor. To customize your emotes on both PC and mobile, select the Animations icon tab and then select Emotes. From the emotes menu, select the Use emotes button to open the Emotion Wheel or list of emotes.

The Emote Wheel, or Emote List on mobile devices, has eight customizable slots, each of which can store one Emote, so keep your eight Emotes in mind! To add or remove emotes from the wheel, simply click on the desired slot and then on any emote you want to replace.

How to use emotes in the game

Only certain events allow emotion compatibility; it's up to the developer to decide if they want to add emotion to their experience. If the experience you're playing allows you to use emotes, you can use them by pressing E to open the emote wheel, or type /e insert emote name into the chat window on PC, or simply press the emote button on mobile. If the experience you're in does not allow emotes, but unfortunately you won't be able to use your chosen emotes in said experience.
